IRB 6650 Robot Paper Sack Palletizing Case Study

This document describes how ABB South Africa installed an IRB 6650 robot at Nampak Sacks' paper sack plant in Durban, increasing production capacity to 350 sacks per minute (94 million annually) while redeploying staff to other tasks. The robot, named "Nqubeko" (meaning "progress" in Zulu), uniquely services two paper sack tubing machines simultaneously, improving on a competitor's single-machine design.
