8.6 Carrier Third Member Assembly Line Description

This document describes an automotive tier-one assembly line for light truck 8.6 Carrier third member assemblies, installed in 1997. The system features two independent palletized lines with 10 ABB IRB-6400 robots, 60 automatic and 20 manual stations, and 2,600 feet of MS-7 conveyor, capable of producing 4,800 carriers per day in a two-shift operation.
