205mm Independent Front Axle Assembly Line

This document describes an ABB robotic assembly line for a 205mm independent front axle used in 4-wheel-drive trucks and SUVs, installed in 2001 for an automotive Tier One supplier. The non-synchronous power roll MS-7 transport system includes 13 automatic, 5 manual, and 5 semi-auto stations with two ABB robots, achieving a 40-second cycle time and 240,000 units per year on two shifts.
