ControlIT AC 800F Water Treatment Plant Automation Case Study

This document describes the successful automation upgrade of the Metropolitan Water Authority Bangkhen water treatment plant in Bangkok, Thailand, transitioning from manual operation to a fully automatic control system using ABB’s ControlIT AC 800F and S800 I/O. The project, completed in 8 months, integrated 32 filter ponds with Profibus DP and Ethernet TCP/IP communication, enabling remote monitoring, local backup, and reusable software for future expansions.
